Design lead on elementary and middle school Social Studies courses. Work with larger design team and writers to develop course material, design direction and implementation. Work with vendors to maintain design consistency. Design work includes animations, online interactives, print media, voice acting, music writing and recording, and audio editing.
2010–2021
Principal Designer / K12, Inc.
Project design lead on multiple courses for grades 6-12, including ELA, Math, and History. Responsible for designing unique branding of individual courses, interactives, and layouts, while balancing an overarching consistency. Overseeing a team of graphic designers, integration of third party content and creating style guidelines for use across multiple departments. Lead weekly review meetings and training sessions and establishing connections among various teams.
Design lead on multiple award-winning courses, establishing design language and guidelines for subject and grade-specific lessons and interactive content. Lead designer on multiple educational games. Encouraged strong coordination between Visual Designers, Instructional Designers, Developers, and UX. Spearheaded development of a new mobile-first philosophy, identifying problem areas and working with UX to develop solutions to redesign content to create an accessible, mobile-friendly experience. Developed solutions and style guides for the conversion of thousands of interactive Flash assets for a mobile-focused HTML5 environment, which included leading a large team of contractors and international vendors.

Freelance Artist
Worked as a freelance artist and animator for multiple companies, including Wisewire (2017), Zynga (2010), Brightline Media (2008), ShaveFX (2007-2008), and Two Animators (2007). Projects were wide ranging, including illustration of game assets, to character design, and animations for NFL banner ads and web cartoons such as Sprint’s The Smallie Biggs Show, Pokemon Learning League, Dog Mafia, Superficial Friends, FOX’s The Simpsons Movie desktop animations, and a game found on the 20th Anniversary edition of The Princess Bride DVD.
